RANCHARD IS “NO-PEN, OPEN RANGE COW-IN-EACH-TREE” SYSTEM
Fact: Grasslands are very fertile, therefore very appropriate for ranchard (ranch + orchard).

The grassland biome is found in Africa, South America, North America, and Africa.
Temperate grasslands are found in North America, South America, Europe, and Africa.
In North America they are called Prairies, in South America, they are called Pampas, In Europe they are Steppes, and in Africa, they are called velds

This didn't give me much more information than I have, but still, great video.

I don't agree... because I have been looking for information about the nature of the grasslands' soil, e.g., whether it is thick enough and fertile enough for fruitrees (orchard).
Now your video says,
00:22
"... grasslands are famous for
00:26
not having many trees and for very
00:29
fertile soil..."
Wow! Thank you! This is precious information to me who do not have easy access to these grasslands. For a long time, I have been wondering if there is enough fertile soil to support fruitrees or the idea of inserting an orchard to the grassland (ranch), hence, ranchard, the teamwork of livestock (animals) and fruitrees.
Your information regarding rainfall is also confirming that indeed, these grasslands have enough water to sustaint the fruitrees year-round.
00.31 "...grasslands received between
00:33
25 and 35 inches of rain summers..."
I have now enough information to believe that at least the soil in the grasslands which includes not only the freerange grasslands in Mongolia but also those fenced and converted into ranches especially in California, USA, is enough at least to start the orchard.
Then, in cases where the soil is thin and less fertile, we can proceed to obtain soil from other places to refill our grasslands, or also to make our own soil with the help of the grasses, the cows and microbes. The point is: IT IS POSSIBLE AND FEASIBLE, ESPECIALLY IN THE LONG RUN, TO INSERT IN THESE GRASSLANDS/ RANCHES AN ORCHARD (FRUITREES).
My $ 1 million question is this: Why on earth has never been anyone in Mongolia or America, no not one, coming out with the idea to insert fruitrees in these grasslands and ranches, at correct distances, e.g., 25 meters apart, to avoid congestion and to ensure that the grasses have enough sunlight to thrive like they did before there were any fruitrees. So, fruitrees planted in right distances will not slow down the growth of the grasses... in fact, the fruitrees will contribute to the greater health of the grasses around because the cows et al can be held to stay under the trees instead of being collected to their fenced pens... The cows being distributed among the fruitrees means proper distribution of their dung, urine and exhalation (carbon dioxide)... thus, fertilizing both the fruitrees and grasses more than they would if the cows et al are rounded up and placed the whole night inside their pens. So, planting fruitrees in correct distances filling the whole grasslands with fruitrees also means or can also mean filling the grassland with cows the whole night and allowing the cows to fertilize during the night as they also do in the day.
Cows, goats and sheep spread throughout the grasslands throughout the day means the grasses are being also fertilized by the dung, urine, and breath of the animals. But it is during the night when much of the whole day's meal turn into dung, urine and carbon dioxide in much much more greater amount!
And huge amount of effort and wages are being saved if it is the cows, distributed among the fruitrees or sleeping under the fruitrees, who "spread" their fertilizers automatically by being there... Compare that to the present practice of the ranchers and the grazers who have to round up the animals every afternoon, lead them back home and cause them to 'sleep' inside a congested pen mudded by their own dung and urine... less hygienic.
The disadvantage with our "cow-in-every-tree" system is our fear if some strangers creep into the open land to steal our cows and fruits at night.
I already knew the answersolutions and here they are: 1) Plant extra fruitrees and raise extra livestock to include the occasional strangers/ robbers; and
2) announce in advance that it is not stealing if they get some of the fruitrees and livestock in time of their need... that they have their share there...that we have excess .. and that we intentionally produce excess for them!
If this is our pro-active approach, then, no one will rob us, and no one will we treat as our enemy. Everyone will be a brother and a friend... As a matter of fact, these ones will even help us in our ranchard, including their protecting us from the real marauders who still do not know our policy... they will tell them that they do not need to steal and destroy but just pick up what they want and how much they want.
In this way, our ranchard (ranch and orchard) will be limitless...ensuring our food and life security... than if we practice selfishness and treat others as non-brothers!
We will limit only the size of how much we can take care or cultivate but WITH REGARDS TO WHO WILL BE OUR BENEFICIARIES AND WITHOUT DISCRIMINATION... THIS WILL BE WITHOUT LIMIT...ANYONE WHO COMES TO OUR DOOR AND ASK, SHALL BE GIVEN AND SHALL GO AWAY NOT HUNGRY AND NOT EMPTY-HANDED.
This is the true Way of the Heavenly Father taught by the true Christ ...
